Lydia is a Haitian-American native of Brooklyn, New York, raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now residing in Metro Atlanta.
Beginning her career as a licensed cosmetologist, Lydia decided to alter direction so she can share her passion of helping business owners and entrepreneurs like herself after over 12 years of servicing mainly the beauty industry. Now she is a Brand Manager, Speaker, Host, Coach, and Media Personality. But her clients lovingly refer her as their "BM", short for Brand Manager.
As a branding coach and consultant, Lydia provides services aimed at empowering entrepreneurs with skills and strategies to reach new levels of leadership. Her niche market is High Profile Executives, whom she counsels through the process of maintaining, improving, and upholding their reputation right where they are as they build their brand. She does this by developing, implementing and executing strategic solutions that help to ensure a smooth transition into entrepreneurship for the executive, allowing their brand to remain favorable to their current audience as well as potential customers. This way their name is associated with positive results and can be leveraged everywhere they go. A self-branded “Corporate Socialite” who believes that business should be fun, Lydia knows a thing or two about this, being someone who has had to transition quite a few times herself while building her own brand.
Lydia is a fierce proponent of professionalism and has dedicated herself to not only working with High Profile Executives and Small Business Owners but also helping them turn their passion to profit and having fun while doing it. Lydia is not only the Founder and CEO of Pierre Branding Group (PBG), she is the Senior Director of Brand Management and is personally involved in the training and development of all their clients to ensure that every client receives the highest level of service.
Whether it is by design or by default, everyone has a brand. We are constantly building a perception of who we are in the minds of those around us. This is Branding. This is why it is important to be consistent and authentic— because you are a brand. If you truly want to be successful in life, you must consider yourself a brand and act accordingly. But..this doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy the journey.
As your Fun Coach, Lydia provides a safe space for playfulness and encouragement. Lydia believes that "adulting" is hard, especially as a business owner. This is why she also believes that it is necessary that those who are in business, especially those who are in a positions of ownership need to take time to have fun. When they are being playful, they tend to feel healthier, safer, almost like they did when they were kids, and maybe even better. Simply by playing, they reclaim their health, their community, their well-being, the energy of their youth. At times, she also supports by offering guidance to the client in their lifestyle as well as their chosen industry.
A natural entrepreneur since her childhood, Lydia started out her career early. A cosmetologist by trade, Lydia started building her reputation as a brand manager in 2011 and went by the title of Ur Beauty Liaison. In that capacity, Lydia worked as a Media Personality and interviewed celebrity guests such as Actress LisaRaye McCoy, Singer Lyfe Jennings, Singer Sheila Raye Charles and daughter of Ray Charles, the legendary Huff & Gamble among others. She has had the pleasure of working in affiliation with individuals such as NFL's Michael Vick; Celebrity Stylist, Dwight Eubanks; and Reality star, Erica Dixon to name a few. She later expanded the business and rebranded as Pierre Branding Group with Ur Beauty Liaison becoming one of the many industries they serve.
Prior to moving to Georgia, she worked as a Medical Billing specialist at Disston Chiropractic in Philadelphia for nearly eleven years. After relocating to Georgia in 2012, she served as the Public Relations Specialist for the Family Support Circle, a non-profit organization providing Afterschool and summer enrichment programming for children in need. She represented the interests of the organization in the community and taught Abstinence Education to the Middle School participants as a certified WAIT Trainer. In addition, she was the Youth Program Coordinator and Mandated Reporter. She also oversaw the organizations Plan of Action Committee and Public Relations Committee by identifying and supporting volunteers and candidates for various positions. She now serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Family Support Circle, Inc.
In 2014, Lydia was brought on as the Director of Communications at the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, after years of managing email campaigns for small businesses & Entrepreneurs in New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta. Her foundation in public relations, in addition to her experience with small businesses and non-profits, contribute to her passion for helping organizations succeed. As the Director of Communications at the Chamber, Lydia developed and oversaw the marketing and communications strategies for the Chamber, including those related to community initiatives, education and workforce development. She has also gained political experience by working on numerous campaigns in Georgia at the local level.
While working at the Chamber, Lydia authored the book entitled, "The Art of Branding: A Simple & Practical Guide to Understanding the Branding Process" in 2015. The book was a short and simple guide that answered some of the most frequently asked questions about personal branding and why it is an important piece of any entrepreneur's life today. The idea was to position herself as an expert while positioning herself to launch her own personal brand. The book is available on Amazon.com.
Through her affiliation with the chamber, Lydia became active as a leader in the business community and was named the chair for the One Henry Arts & Leisure Subcommittee in 2016. One Henry is a collaborative effort of various citizens, community groups/businesses, and the Henry County Chamber of Commerce for economic advancement. The Arts & Leisure Subcommittee, which Lydia chairs, is one of five subcommittees working under the One Henry header in an effort to move the county in a positive direction by focusing on key areas vital to strengthening economic viability and prosperity throughout Henry County.
In January 2018, Lydia became a member of the Board of Directors for the Henry Arts Alliance whose mission is to improve the quality of life in Henry County and the Southern Crescent (Henry, Clayton, Fayette, Butts, Newton, Rockdale and Spalding and surrounding counties) by creating awareness, stimulating interest, and encouraging local involvement in the arts.
In the midst of all that, Lydia graduated as part of the 2018 Leadership Henry Class which is a leadership development program sponsored by the Henry County Chamber of Commerce that engages emerging and existing leaders in a nine-month program that broadens their knowledge of community issues, sharpens their leadership skills and challenges themselves and others to seek solutions to those issues affecting our communities. Equipped with more knowledge and skills, Lydia decide to transition out of her role at the Henry County Chamber of Commerce and opened up her own branding and consulting firm called Pierre Branding Group or PBG. At the time it was just her and her mentee and the then work-based learning student who was assigned to work with Lydia at the chamber for the past 2 years. With her support and assistance, Lydia was able to grow PBG into what it is today. A team of industry experts known as the Powerhouse of Consultants, who come together to deliver premium branding and business consulting services. Lydia and her team at PBG provide services aimed at empowering successful entrepreneurs and small business owners with skills and strategies to reach higher levels of leadership and expand their brand.
This transition occurred all while simultaneously taking on the role of Marketing Specialist (and Socialite) at Heritage Bank, an independent community bank with 6 branches serving Clayton, Henry & Fayette counties in Atlanta's Southern Crescent since 1955. While there, she launched the Twelve @12 Mentorship Program which was a Mentoring for Leadership Lunch Series pairing Mentors with Mentees in the business community and providing them with a forum for setting, discussing and dissecting a path to leadership with someone who has walked that path before. The Mentors were handpicked by Lydia herself, and consisted of Politicians, well-known Business Leaders and C-Suite Execs on the local and state level. Some of the mentors included Senator Brian Strickland, Henry County Commissioner Chair, June Wood, GDot Board Member, Dana Lemon, and Heritage Bank's CEO, Leonard Moreland. Heritage Bank was actually the sponsoring partner for the Twelve @12 which spoke volumes to have her then employer also support her entrepreneurial efforts.
After a year and a half of working in that role and raising the bank’s brand awareness within the community alongside her own brand, Lydia transitioned once again this time to working on and in Pierre Branding Group full-time, ready to help others do what she managed to do successfully. Transitioning from Executive to Entrepreneur all while keeping all relationships, connections, and most of all, her brand, intact.
Lydia's foundation in public relations, in addition to her marketing experience with small businesses and non-profits, contribute to her passion for helping organizations succeed. She is a graduate of Leadership Henry’s 2018 class and sits on several boards including the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Gordon State College Business Program Advisory Board, and Vice Chair at Family Support Circle, Inc. She was named Who’s Who of Black Atlanta after founding the Twelve at 12 Luncheon series where top level executives in Henry County and Atlanta mentor those aspiring to make connections and learn from such a respected leader. She was also named Henry County's Best of the Best Local Entrepreneur of 2020.
